Visakhapatnam: A grand gala dinner on the beachfront and selfie-locations with scope for huge likes on social media and family albums, await delegates from all over the world at the two-day Global Investors’ Summit (GIS) beginning here on Friday at the sprawling Andhra University Engineering College Grounds.The State government has brought out attractive souvenirs on Andhra Pradesh for the occasion.

Further, Araku Organic Coffee packets, Bobbili Veena, Etikoppaka Toys, Tirumala and Simhachalam laddus and hand-weaved sarees and garments from Ponduru and Chirala will be added attractions. The State Government is making massive arrangements to serve yummy dishes mostly Andhra cuisine along with Western food for foreign dignitaries at VMRDA Park and erstwhile MGM Theme Park located on the beachfront. A drone show at the venue is also arranged.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will personally receive the guests along with Ministers and top officials from the government. Several top industrialists are expected to land in private aircraft. The INS Dega Airport has a facility to accommodate 18 without causing any dislocation to regular flight services.

“We need to allow scattered timing to the private aircraft so as to avoid dislocation to movement of passenger flights,” a Minister said.

Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, G Kissan Reddy and R Chandrasekhar have confirmed participation. The government is awaiting confirmation from Union Minister Piyush Goyal. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate the summit as well as an exhibition. The expo will showcase investment opportunities in 14 sectors by the departments concerned. Breakout sessions will be held at four separate halls with the inaugural continuing from 10am to 2pm where most of the MoUs are expected to be signed. Due to preoccupation, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani will not attend due to his preoccupation. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) CEO Karan Adani will attend.
